Up the Long Ladder
A distress call is picked up from Gamma Hromi, 22nd Century human. It’s a race for the Enterprise to arrive there before the Klingons do, and evacuate everyone. Unbeknownst to all is that the Ferengi are lying in wait to capture the flagship and sell her to the highest bidder. Riker develops a relationship with one of the locals. Some of them discreetly allow the Ferengi access to the Enterprise. However the Ferengi’s plan is ill-conceived, and those not killed are thrown in the brig, along with the collaborators (all members of a gen-eng society) to face a Starfleet Tribunal.
